ANNUAL REPORT OF CENTRAL LIBRARY
Introduction:
Dhubri Medical College & Hospital, a Government Medical College in Dhubri district of Assam. It is the 9th Medical College in Assam, dedicated to the health and welfare of the people of the state. Along with its inception, the Central Library also began functioning. The library is a fully air-conditioned facility (4000 sq. m) with seating arrangements for 42 students and 18 faculty members. It features good lighting, ventilation, and ample space for stocking and displaying books and journals. Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the father of Library Science, aptly described a library as the heart of educational institutions, emphasizing that a well-functioning library creates a healthy educational environment.

Library Services
1. Circulation Service:
The circulation service is the central hub for borrowing and returning materials. Currently, this service is being performed from the librarian's office and will soon shift to its designated location.
Loan Policy:
- Students: 2 books for 15 days
- Faculty: 3 books for 1 month
2. Internet Service: Not currently in demand.
3. Library Membership:
Membership is open to the following groups:

- Others associated with the institute
4. User Education:
User education programs are conducted to familiarize users with library resources and services. On 1st September 2023, a library orientation program was organized for new students.
Best Library User Award:
The library has introduced the "Best Library User Award," conferred annually on Librarian's Day (12th August). Three students will be selected based on their maximum utilization of library resources and facilities.
