Admission Process

Admission to the MBBS program at Dhubri Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) is a merit-based process designed to ensure the selection of the most deserving candidates. The process involves the following steps:

1. Eligibility Criteria
   • Candidates must have completed their 10+2 examinations with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects.
   • A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology is required for general category candidates. (For reserved categories, the eligibility criteria may vary as per government norms.)
   • Applicants must also meet the age criteria as specified by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

2. Entrance Examination
   • Admission is based on performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET-UG).
   • NEET-UG is a national-level examination conducted annually to assess the knowledge and aptitude of aspiring medical students.

3. Counseling Process
   • Candidates who qualify NEET-UG are required to participate in the counseling process, which is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Assam (DME).
   • During counseling, candidates can choose DMCH based on their NEET-UG rank and seat availability.

4. Seat Allocation
   • Seats are allocated through a transparent process based on merit, reservation policies, and candidate preferences.
   • Selected candidates receive a provisional admission letter and are required to complete the formalities within the stipulated time.

5. Document Verification
   • Candidates must present the following documents during the admission process:
     • NEET-UG scorecard and admit card
     • 10th and 12th-grade mark sheets and passing certificates
     • Domicile and caste certificates (if applicable)
     • Photo identification proof (e.g., Aadhaar card)
     • Passport-sized photographs

6. Fee Payment
   • Admitted candidates are required to pay the prescribed fees to confirm their admission.
