Dhubri Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) actively participated in World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) 2024, themed "Educate. Advocate. Act now." The institution organized a series of impactful events to raise awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and promote responsible antimicrobial use.
Key Activities
Walkathon for AMR Awareness: On November 19, 2024, the Department of Microbiology organized a walkathon to educate the public about the dangers of antimicrobial misuse and the importance of stewardship.
Launch of Infection Control Manual: DMCH introduced a comprehensive Infection Control Manual, offering healthcare professionals guidelines on best practices to prevent healthcare-associated infections and curb the spread of resistant pathogens.
Expert Deliberations on AMR: Esteemed speakers delivered insightful talks on various aspects of AMR, including its global impact, prevention strategies, and the role of healthcare providers in mitigating resistance.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) and AMR Panel Discussion: A CME session featured a panel discussion with experts who shared their knowledge and experiences related to AMR, fostering a deeper understanding among attendees.
